Peter Tosh was never afraid to speak truth to power — a bold advocate for Black empowerment and the legalisation of ganja, long before it became mainstream. His fearless message clearly struck a chord with Sampalue, who says Tosh’s militance shaped his own music and mindset.

“Peter Tosh was one of the prominent advocates for the legalisation of marijuana, which has now been legalised to some extent. Marijuana has been a staple of the culture as the Rastaman way of life, which is used as their sacrament,” Sampalue shared.

The “Straight Outta Hannah Town” artiste is still making waves — his latest album, Unmistakable, features the track “Left With A Broken”, which recently hit #1 on the Foundation Radio Network Chart in New York!
