Move over, movie superheroes ā Jamaicaās got the real deal!

Meet 14-year-old Adrian āAjaniā Ellis, a student of Ascot High whoās being celebrated nationwide for an act of pure bravery that saved his friendās life. During a scary moment at Portmore Mall earlier this year, when his schoolmate Roxanne RileyĀ started bleeding heavily after a fall, most bystanders did what too many do pulled out their phones to record. š±š
But not Adrian. This young king took action. He ripped off his undershirt and pressed it against her wound, stopping the bleeding until help arrived. His quick thinking literallyĀ saved her life.
Fast-forward to this week and Adrian just received the Badge of Honour for GallantryĀ at the National Honours and Awards Ceremony at Kingās House, greeted with loud cheers and a standing ovation! šš½š
His proud mom, Trecia Stewart, says she wasnāt even surprised she knew her son was kind and selfless. His grandmother Pansy Spencer added, āI knew he had that thinking in him.ā š„¹
Even MP Alando TerrelongeĀ had big words for the young hero, calling Adrian āthe very best of our youthā and urging Jamaicaās youngsters to take a page from his book.
And get this, Adrian said he learned how to respond to emergencies from watching TikTok videos and movies!Ā
š„š²Talk about turning screen time into lifesaving time!
This story isnāt just about bravery itās about heart, quick thinking, and the power of doing whatās rightĀ when it counts most.
