Jamaica, get ready!
The Return of the Gully Gad is officially on!
After nearly a decade away from the island, dancehall heavyweight Mavado is making his long-awaited return to the Jamaican stage this December 27 at Reggae Fest Jamaica: The Return of the Gully Gad, and the streets are buzzing.
Guess whoâs joining the celebration? None other than DJ Khaled, the Grammy-winning super producer, businessman, and honorary yard man himself!
The big reveal came straight from Khaledâs Instagram, where he dropped the bombshell:
âIâm on the rock December 27 (JM)! Mavado put the call in, so you know Iâm there! Letâs make more history, more blessings. We the Best â all love and respect.â
Promoter CJ Milan confirmed the news, teasing whatâs already being dubbed a âGully Christmasâ by fans. After Mavadoâs surprise arrival back in Jamaica earlier this month, his first time home since 2018, dancehall streets have been buzzing with speculation about a homecoming show. Now, itâs official, and the excitement is through the roof.

Mavado, whose return followed the lifting of an old warrant, seems ready to remind everyone why heâs still one of dancehallâs most commanding voices. His link with Khaled runs deep from âYou Remind Meâ alongside Buju Banton, Bounty Killer, Vybz Kartel, and more, to their longtime friendship and musical collaborations through Khaledâs We The Best Music label.
Khaledâs connection to Jamaica goes way back from spinning reggae and dancehall as a Miami DJ to working with icons like Sizzla, Capleton, and Skillibeng. Heâs never been shy about giving the island its flowers, calling himself an âhonorary Jamaicanâ and crediting the culture for inspiring his global success.
Now, with Mavado back on home turf and DJ Khaled leading the charge, Reggae Fest Jamaica at Plantation Cove, St Ann, is shaping up to be the event of the year.
Mark your calendars as December 27 isnât just another show. Itâs a moment in dancehall history.Â
