Donald Trump pardons federal life sentence of street gang kingpin Larry Hoover

President Donald Trump on Wednesday reduced the federal life sentence of former American gangster and founder of the Chicago street gang Gangster Disciples, Larry Hoover.

The 74-year-old is currently serving a life sentence after being imprisoned in connection with a 1973 murder. Hoover was sentenced to 150 to 200 years for the murder. He was also convicted of conspiracy, extortion, money laundering and running a continuing criminal enterprise from state prison in 1997.

But according to the Chicago Tribune, a two-page order by the White House said Hoover’s sentence was considered served “with no further fines, restitution, probation or other conditions” and directed the US Bureau of Prisons to release him “immediately”.
