March 28, 2025 — Listen, when we tell you the vibes were unmatched, believe us! We had the absolute pleasure of covering the first-ever launch of the WAV Festival — and it all went down at the iconic UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.
As a media powerhouse, AskBlondieTV.com always pulls up to give our viewers exclusive visuals, behind-the-scenes moments, and the real energy of every event. Now, while we didn’t get the backstage access we were hoping for, that didn’t stop us from doing what we do best — capturing the experience and bringing it straight to you!
Our ABTV Event Street Team was on the clock for this one. We showed up early, 8:00 PM sharp, ready to step in and get to work. But let’s keep it real — what we’ll call some "technical difficulties" had us outside longer than expected. It wasn’t until 9:30 PM that we finally touched inside the venue.
Major shoutout to the PR of all PRs, Destine Media, for coming through and saving the day! You already know!
The first order of business when we got in? Drinks on deck! We had to lock in and grab our signature Henny Cherry Lemonades — and when we say the drinks hit just right, whew! They matched the energy of the night perfectly. NICEEEE!!
Now let’s talk about the show. EVERY artist that was advertised pulled up and shell down the place! No cancellations, no no-shows — just pure performances back to back. But if we had to choose our Top 3 performers of the night, it’s gotta be:
1. Spice — The queen herself. Commanded the stage and had the crowd singing every word.
2. Dexta Daps — Smooth operator, had the ladies losing their voices.
3. Skeng — Young energy, badness on 10, and had the crowd in a frenzy!
One of the most emotional moments of the night was the beautiful tribute to the legendary DJ Roy. You could feel the love in the room as the entire crowd screamed, “Big up DJ Roy!” It was a moment that gave everyone chills.
And just when you thought the vibes couldn’t get any better, Jabba from Hot97 grabbed the mic and reminded the crowd, “Jamaica is the BIG deal!” That was the cherry on top — the entire arena went OFF! Flags waving, people jumping, the energy was on a thousand.
From start to finish, the show was worth every bit of the hype. The crowd was diverse — people of all ages, backgrounds, and vibes — but one thing united them all: The music, the culture, and the energy. The crowd participation? Unmatched.
Now, let’s keep it all the way real. This isn’t our first time covering big events for AskBlondieTV.com, and while the night was a success, we gotta keep it 100 — promoters and venue teams need to do better when it comes to media and press access. No media outlet should have to wait an hour and a half outside because tickets and credentials weren’t ready. We’re here to help elevate the event, not hold up the process.
That being said — the night was a MOVIE! And best believe, we’re already looking forward to the next WAV Festival locked in for 2026. If this year was any indication, next year is going to be even crazier.
