#Everygirlagetfeatured At AskBlondieTV.com, we believe in celebrating the trailblazers, visionaries, and game changers who are making a meaningful impact in their industries.

This month, our spotlight shines on a talented Guyanese public relations professional whose passion, dedication, and expertise have helped elevate brands, build powerful connections, and inspire others along the way.

We invite you to get to know the woman behind the success as she shares her journey, insights, and experiences in this exclusive Q&A feature.

1. Could you tell the people how you first met our CEO and lead journalist, Blondie Billz, and how that relationship has evolved over time?

I met this amazing woman while leading public relations for the first Dancehall concert at UBS Arena, produced by Farm Up Jamaica and headlined by Masicka. Her media platform was covering the event and we connected. Since then, we've built a genuine relationship rooted in mutual respect and support. It's been incredible watching her media company continue to grow. I truly admire her storytelling style because it's authentic, different and unique. That's one of the reasons so many people continue to gravitate toward her work.

❓2. For those who may not know you, could you introduce yourself and tell us what inspired you to pursue a career in public relations?

My name is Tracey Khan. I'm a proud Guyanese woman from the countryside of Berbice. I started my career in media at 17 and immediately fell in love with journalism and storytelling. Since then, I've never stopped learning, growing and challenging myself.

My journey into public relations began in Guyana while working with a U.S.-based nonprofit organization that was doing impactful work in communities. I naturally found myself helping tell their stories and promoting their mission, which eventually led me to build my own PR agency. Things really took off when I led public relations for an international oil company entering Guyana. That experience showed me the true power of strategic communications and the impact great storytelling can have. Since then, I've managed public relations for major events, including the Farm Up Jamaica Climate Smart Concert, Caribbean Night Long Island and several other high-profile projects.

❓3. Public relations is all about building and protecting a brand's image. In your opinion, what is the most important quality every successful PR professional should possess?

Humility is the most important quality. From both a personal and spiritual perspective, staying humble keeps you grounded. You also have to be passionate about the work and, honestly, just a little delusional. Sometimes you have to believe something can happen long before anyone else does. That belief is often what turns big ideas into reality.

❓4. What's one of the biggest misconceptions people have about working in public relations, and what does the job really involve behind the scenes?

People often think PR is all glitz and glamour because they see the red carpets, celebrity events and exclusive rooms. What they don't see are the long days, late nights and constant problem-solving. This is a 24/7 profession. Behind every successful event or campaign are countless hours of planning, pitching, relationship-building and crisis management. If you want to stay in this industry, you have to be willing to outwork everyone else.

❓5. What advice would you give to young women who aspire to build a successful career in public relations, media or communications?

Start now. Don't wait until you feel ready. Find an internship, volunteer or seek out a mentor who can teach you the business. The earlier you begin building your experience and relationships, the more opportunities you'll create for yourself. Stay curious, keep learning and never be afraid to bet on yourself.
